The Deep End

The DEEP END is our Sunday morning program for Woodside Student Ministry. It meets every week from 11:30-12:40 in room 231. Each week should be characterized by the following:

1) Passionate worship. Carefully chosen songs that are both theologically true and echo the heart cry of this generation. Typically we have a student band that leads us.

2) Careful instruction from God’s word: Woodside is committed to the careful exposition of God’s word.  Typically the message will go 30-40 minutes and be centered around one passage of scripture (verse jumping around to many different books to make a point).

3) Creativity and variety.  We never want things to get stale - after all, our Lord himself hardly ever healed people the same way twice.  We want to communicate in fresh, innovative, and memorable ways.  So don’t be surprised if we use different elements like student testimonies, panels, video, etc. to drive home a particular concept.

In addition, some Sunday mornings may be characterized by a major change in programming.  The GREAT AWAKENING is where we combine with our middle school students and worship together.  SMALL GROUP SUNDAYS are where we fill room 231 with round tables and have discussion instead of listening to a message.
